Somerset has an ancient history, going back to the Roman settlement which became the city of Bath, and legends of King Arthur and the Holy Grail in Glastonbury.
Cheddar Gorge - Cheddar Gorge is a dramatic rock formation of limestone rocks pitted with holes and caves. Kids will have fun taking the 1 1/2 hour tour of a cave chock full of stalactites and stalagmites (caves were once used to age the cheeses).
Also, stop in the village of Cheddar to visit a cheese factory and see how real English cheddar is made.
