On the Redwood Coast, which extends from Eureka to the Oregon border, magnificent coast redwoods grow amidst carpets of ferns and berry bushes, and kids will find giant green sea anemones and orange sea stars in the tide pools. The summers are often foggy, but it's sunlight and fog intermixed, and often clears up in the afternoon. To see the coast on clear days, come in autumn.
