Zurich

Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland, is a worldwide banking center but there's plenty of fun things to do with kids. Albert Einstein came to Zurich as a student to attend the ETH university - today kids can ride the 1889 red Polybahn cable railway up to the campus for a super panorama of the city.

Lake Zurich - Burkliplatz
Old City
Zurichhorn Park
Museums
Day trips - Rapperswil
Fountains - Everywhere you go in Zurich, look for fountains in all shapes and sizes. The water is good to drink and you'll see the locals filling their water bottles from the fountains.
Ride the trams - It's so easy to get around downtown Zurich with the trams and buses (ZVV network), which run frequently and cover the central Zurich, zone 10. Buy a Tageskarte, a day transportation card, that allows for unlimited trips on any tram, bus, and includes Limmat boat rides on the lake and river.
Fun food
The warm smells coming out of the sweet shops (confiserie) in Zurich are enticing, and it's hard to walk by without sampling chocolates in all sizes and freshly baked pastries. For elegant sweets, stop into Sprungli and try the colorful tiny "Luxemburgerli" macaroons in pastel colors, with flavors of chocolate, vanilla, raspberry, lemon, caramel.
