Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole encompasses the valley and mountains adjoining Grand Teton National Park. The area is open year round, with ski resorts in winter and plenty of activities in summer. The town of Jackson is named after a trapper, David Jackson, who came to this valley in the early 19th century to trap beavers for their valuable fur.

Tip: Jackson Hole, the southern end of the valley, is contiguous with Grand Teton National Park. Jackson and Teton Village are just a short ride to the park entrance.
