Pike Place Market - Pike Place Market spreads over several blocks, from Pike Street to Virginia Street. The market has something for everyone in the family - seafood and sushi restaurants, stalls with sausages or hot dogs, ethnic foods, delis and sandwich shops, crepes, chocolates, ice cream, doughnuts, and farm tables with local fruits, vegetables and nuts.

Out front, kids can climb on Rachel, the big bronze pig and follow her piggy footsteps through the market. Pike Place Market is open daily, year round.

Seattle Art Museum - Check out Northwest Coast art, Chilkat robes, model canoes, painted woven hats, wooden headdresses and masks black argilite carvings. In the Knudsen Family Room, there's hands-on activities with lots of picture books, musical instruments, wooden puzzles, costumes, and puppets. Don't miss the "Sound Suit" by Nick Cave, made from old sweaters (great idea), and the collection of animal face masks from Africa.

Central Library - A landmark contemporary building by Rem Koolhaas, take the fluorescent yellow escalators to the 10th floor, where kids will feel like they're in a powder blue honeycomb. The Children's Center on the first floor is filled with picture books, computers (including computers for little kids), puzzles, wooden toys. On level three, there's a cafe and children's bookstore.

Westlake Plaza - On a warm day, the fountain with waterfalls are a great way to cool off (kids can splash around). Also, in summer are kids activities. Westlake Plaza is also where you pick up the Monorail that goes to Seattle Center.
