Lake Thun
Thun -
Schloss Thun (Thun Castle) - Schloss Thun, built in 1190, is a beautifully preserved medieval fortress, later expanded as a palatial residence. Inside, check out exhibits of ancient weapons, tapestries, costumes, and doll houses.Climb up the corner towers for super views of the town, lake, and Alps in the distance. One family says, "better than the Tower of London."
St. Beatus Caves (Beatus-hohlen) - Go on a one hour tour of the St. Beatus caves, with limestone stalactites and stalagmites, underground pools and cascades, mossy green hanging gardens. The caves are named for St. Beatus, who, according to legend, fought a dragon in the cave. No strollers, and it's a bit of a walk to the cave itself. The caves are open March to October.
Next to the caves is a playground with lovely dragon slide, play area and picnic tables, plus a museum about caves in Switzerland.
Lake cruises - Take a lake cruise on a paddle steamer (boats are equipped with play cabins for kids, with games and crafts), brunch and evening cruises are also available. Pick up the lake steamers on Seestrasse, near the train station in Thun, or behind the West Bahnhof in Interlaken.  Click here for the schedule.
