Fort William and the surrounding area is one of our favorite places to go with kids in Scotland. A must do is ride the "Harry Potter" steam train (The Jacobite) to Mallaig, but you'll also want to hike in Glen Nevis (gorgeous Highlands valley), ride to the top of Aonach Mor, one of the highest mountains in Scotland, bike around a crumbly 13th century castle, or go for a boat cruise on the lochs.
