Winter activities
Go ice skating - Toronto has many outdoor and indoor skating rinks, and people of all ages can be seen enjoying this winter sport. Try the City Hall rink at Nathan Phillips Square and Harbourfront Centre, skate rentals are available.
From the end of November to mid- Decemer, check out Lowe's Christmas Market in the Distillery Historic District. For kids, there's a reindeer zoo, story telling, and events such as St. Nicholas and Sankta Lucia celebrations.
IceFest (Yorkville Park) - Be sure to bundle up the kids, because you'll want to spend lots of time checking out the large ice sculptures in all sorts of shapes, and watching ice carving demonstrations and skating shows.
Toronto Zoo - In winter, all the Canadian animals and polar bears in the Tundra Trek exhibit are right at home, snow is just what they like.
