West Coast
Ravenglass -
Muncaster Castle - This 13th century caste, built on a Roman foundation, has been owned by the same family for centuries. It's supposed to be a haunted castle, especially the Tapestry room, and if you look hard, you might even see some faeries floating around the garden.
The World Owl Trust, located on the grounds, gives a "Meet the Birds" show daily.
Steam train - Take the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, a pint-size steam train from Ravenglass through Eskdale. The train was originally designed to carry ore from Eskdale to the coast. The train also stops at the Muncaster Mill, a working water mill where you can see flour being ground.
