Lake Windermere Cruises - Take a delightful ride around Lake Windermere on a small steamboat ("steamer"). You can pick them up at Bowness or Ambleside. The trip around the lake provides great views of the mountains, castles and other landmarks on the shore.
Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm (Sawrey) - Stop by Beatrix Potter's 17th century farmhouse where she lived and wrote her beloved children's books. She observed and drew from nature around her. Bring along The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck or Tom Kitten to compare her drawings with the landscape at Hill Top farm.
