Coronado
Coronado Beach - Coronado Beach extends over a mile north of Hotel del Coronado. This white, flat sand beach is perfect for kids to build sand castles or boogie boarding (lifeguards are on duty). Look for dolphins in the water, and "pelican parties," pelicans diving into the waves.
Glorietta Bay - Rent pedal boats and pedal around to your heart's content. At Glorietta Bay Park, there is a playground, grassy area and small sandy beach.
Ferry Landing Marketplace - Ferry Landing Marketplace has shops and places to grab a bite to eat. Spend time watching people on the fishing pier or feeding the ducks in the pond. Or, take your beach buckets for the kids to play on the sandy beach, and wade in the water.
Coronado Ferry - Take the ferry across the bay to Broadway Pier in San Diego. Lovely views of the harbor from the upper deck.
Rent bikes or surreys - From Ferry Landing Marketplace, follow the bike path down to Tidelands Park, all the way to the Coronado Bridge! You can rent bikes and surreys (2,4, or 6 people) at Bikes and Beyond (on First St.) Kid's bikes are available and helmets are provided.
Tidelands Park has a playground large climbing structures and slides, picnic tables, and great views of San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge. A bike path goes along the water.
Spreckels Park in the center of Coronado has band concerts on Sundays (in the summer, Memorial Day through Labor Day) and there are free music concerts in the evenings. This grassy park with large shady trees also has a playground and picnic tables.
