Lake Tahoe
East
Sand Harbor - This is one of the most beautiful beach accesses at Lake Tahoe, unspoiled and natural, with a long arc of white sand, and views across Lake Tahoe to the west. The water is shallow and crystal clear, with smooth granite boulders poking out of the water. Sand Harbor is a place to relax, and let the kids play as long as they like in the water.
Tahoe East Shore Trail - From Sand Harbor, take 3 mile trail from Sand Harbor to Incline Village. Paved multi-use trail (separate from road) for walking and bikes, it goes right along the lake for two miles, third mile is on hillside, with panoramic views of high mountains.
Zephyr Cove -
Lake cruises - Year round, take a 2 hour cruise on the paddlewheeler M.S. Dixie II to Emerald Bay and back. Lots of lore about Vikingsholm and fun facts about Lake Tahoe.
Beach day - Spend the playing on the long sandy beach, or swimming in the water. You can rent umbrellas and beach chairs, bring your sand toys.
Boating - Rent pedal boats, kayaks, water skis, power boats, pontoon boats, and get out on the lake.
Horseback riding - Zephyr Cove Stables has 1 or 2 hour guided trail rides through the forests by the lake. If you have a bigger family group, breakfast, lunch or dinner rides are also available. For kids 7 and up.
